Universal wastes include fluorescent, high-intensity discharge (HID) and other lamps; mercury-containing batteries and devices, including some electronic waste, and pesticides.
This factsheet provides a detailed introduction to the universal waste regulatory designation, types of universal waste and rules for universal waste handlers.
